I just read your article on Andy Warhol. And you say that Warhol was a commercial illustrator, does that mean he was in advertising? From the Campbell’s can–and I forget the other example–I would assume that he worked for some kind of company similar to marketing. Anyways, his quote about McDonald’s with your accommodating image of McDonald’s from the Space Needle is total Warhol. The prime view from the space needle is blocked by the large ‘M’ of a fast food chain; and, like the Coca-Cola, they just taste so good! and everyone can afford it.
Yeah. He was an illustrator for various fashion magazines. He drew advertisements. A lot of the shoe drawings were just for fun, and he sold them sometimes.
